Golden Star asked for source of funds docs after my cashout request
That'd give me a heart attack honestly π
I only made my first deposit recently and the thought of finally getting a cashout through only to get hit with a source-of-funds check sounds rough. So they froze the withdrawal until you send stuff like bank statements or payslips? Is that a standard thing for them or did something about your account trigger it? Keen to hear how long it took to clear, and whether the payout landed normally after π
New here, soaking it up.
Yeah the freeze is the part that stings, mate, the money just sits there in limbo while you dig out paperwork you didn't think you'd need. Been through a similar dance at an offshore place a few years back, and honestly once I sent the docs it got sorted, but that week of waiting had me checking my inbox like a lunatic.
Best advice I can give the young fellas: don't take it personal, and don't let the docs sit in the too-hard basket. Send payslips or statements sharpish, keep it all consistent with what you deposited, and reply to their emails same day. Casinos love dragging these things out when you're slow, the squeaky wheel gets paid first, as they say. Greed got me busted more times than paperwork ever did, ah well, we grind on π
I remember the old slots first-hand.
Had one of these myself at an offshore joint a while back, and the freeze is genuinely the worst part. The cashout sits in "processing" while you screenshot bank statements at 11pm. My advice, for what it's worth: send exactly what they ask, nothing more, and keep copies of everything you upload. On a small spin sample the compliance odds feel scary, but in practice these checks are mostly mechanical - if your deposits came from an account in your own name, the paperwork lines up and it clears. The trap is mixing funds or depositing from someone else's card, which is where punters get stuck for weeks.
LuckIsAllTillIWin, don't let it put you off cashing out β the check usually triggers on a decent win or a pattern, and the only guaranteed way to fail it is to never withdraw at all. π
I keep my own spin/hit spreadsheet π
Bit shy asking this but what counts as "source of funds" exactly? Is a payslip enough or do they want actual bank statements too? π
Still learning all this
No shame in asking, mate - better than panicking later.
Source of funds is just them wanting proof the money you gambled with came from somewhere legit. Payslip does the job if your deposits match your wages, but if you've moved a bit of coin around, say you withdrew from one place and deposited at another, they'll usually want bank statements showing where it all came from. Think of it like the club asking why you've got a few grand to slap on the pokies: they just want to see it's your own money, honestly earned.
I turned 50 into 5k once, way back on the old-school grind, and got asked similar - sent my statements, money landed fine. Send exactly what they ask, nothing extra, and keep copies of everything like Cascade77 says. The waiting's the worst part, not the paperwork π
What got me the first time was how fussy they were about the dates on the paperwork, a payslip from a couple of months back didn't cut it, they wanted something recent showing the money landing in the account. Nearly sent a screenshot of the wrong statement page and copped another delay because of it.
Geelong, mate, a payslip's usually a decent start but bank statements showing the deposit actually going out are the safer bet. And Cascade's spot on, send what they asked for, no more. I once chucked in extra docs thinking I was being helpful and the compliance mob just came back with more questions. Greed with paperwork's the same as greed at the tables, it'll bust you every time π
It's all hit and busted before, folks.
DaveFortune is spot on about the dates, learned that one the hard way too π€« Sent them a stale bank statement once and they just sat on my withdrawal for ages like it wasn't even there. Keep everything recent, that's my tβ¦
@DaveFortune same experience here, they knocked back my older payslip too and wanted the last couple of weeks showing the deposit hitting the account. Once I sent fresh stuff the cashout cleared within a few days, so they do pay. Just don't sit on it, get the recent docs in straight away and keep an eye on the pending status. π₯
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.

Word isβ¦ but you didn't hear it π€«
Cheers, that helps π
So fresh docs only - good to know. Did anyone actually get paid after sending theirs, or does Golden Star drag it out?
Learn something new about casinos every day.
@TrueBlue_North sounds like they pay going off these replies π
my first cashout is pending the same doc check at the moment and the fresh payslip thing caught me out too, had to ask my manager for one dated after my deposit. Good to hear it cleared quick for you Tassie1986, gives me hope π
Asking dumb bonus questions β that's the job.
Can confirm they pay, got a decent cashout off my favourite pokie there after jumping through the same doc hoop π€ the fresh payslip thing caught me out too, had to chase my boss for the latest one ah well. Once it was in, money landed quick and no dramas π₯π°
The hit is close, I can feel it.

I'm still learning bonuses myself but my first cashout is pending docs too, so maybe I'm being dumb asking this, do they want the bank statement showing the deposit itself or just any recent one? Glad to hear fresh payslips did the trick for you blokes π

@Tassie1986 yeah same deal when I cleared mine there, they wanted the statement page with the actual deposit transaction on it, not just any recent one. Sorted mine with a screenshot of the deposit hit plus a fresh payslip and it landed in a few days. Bet per spin matters too, keep it under the max bonus bet during wagering or they'll use that to stall the cashout. Cashing out in time is everything.

@Sam_Roller885 that deposit-hit detail is the bit everyone trips over. Turned a 50 buck first cashout into a two-week saga at another joint once because I kept sending them the summary page like an idiot π the moment I gave them the page with the actual transaction sitting there, cleared in a day and a bit.
My tip for the young fellas in here waiting: send the payslip and the deposit page together the first time, don't wait for them to bounce it. And check the dates line up, they're fussy about the payslip being newer than your deposit. Painful, but it's their money-laundering box they've got to tick, so play their game and it moves quick.
It's all hit and busted before, folks.
That deposit transaction thing is good to know, thanks Sam π I got asked for docs on my first cashout here too and panicked a bit, sent any old statement first and they bounced it back, had to resend the page with the actual deposit on it. So yeah go with the screenshot of the deposit hit, saves a whole round trip π
Maybe I'm being dumb but does anyone know if they ask for payslips every time you cash out, or just the first one? Still learning all this doc stuff lol
Learning to clear wagering, go easy π
They asked me for the same stuff last year, sent the deposit page plus payslip and it cleared no drama. Hang in there legends ππ°
