Who else does this? Guilty, once. Reversed a pending cashout on Casinonic for one more slap and the pokies ate the lot, plus the original withdrawal. Since then the rule is simple: hit the cashout, walk away, let it land. The site loves that reverse button because punters keep handing the money back 💸 Honest question to the thread, does anyone actually come out ahead doing this? For me the balance never survived a second session after reversing. If a win is worth banking and cashing out, it's worth protecting, not re-wagering it. 🎰
500x one day, zero the next. Classic.

guilty as charged, mate, more times than i'd admit to the missus 😄 reversed plenty of pending cashouts back in the day. Turned 50 into 5k once doing it, and then busted more banks than you've deposited chasing that feeling again. that one win is exactly why the habit sticks, i reckon. the machine always remembers, you don't. these days i'm with BetGod - hit the button and let it land, no matter how sweet the feature looks while it's pending. old rule from the club pokies: when the payout ticket's in your hand, the session's over. the moment you reverse it, the money's already gone in your head, you're just playing with their chips till they take them back. greed's a funny currency - always spends worse than it earns 😉
It's all hit and busted before, folks.

That one 50-to-5k story is why they design it this way, mate. Got a cashout screenshot from when you actually let one land? Thought not.

Sorry if this is a dumb question 😅 but when you reverse a pending cashout, does the money actually come out of your balance straight away, or does it only count once the withdrawal was meant to land? Only made my first cashout last week and now I'm paranoid I'll do exactly what Dave did 🙈 Thanks BetGod for the walk away rule, might steal that

no question's dumb here mate, we've all been there. Basically while your withdrawal is sitting in "pending", that A$ amount is still showing in your balance as pending, so you can hit the reverse button and it goes back into playable money for another slap on the pokies. Once it lands in your account though, that's it, no getting it back. Say you cashed out a grand and reversed it for one more session, odds are the machine eats the lot, which is how half of us lost cashouts we'd already "won". Ah well, we grind on.
I remember the old slots first-hand.

The reverse button's the most dangerous feature ever invented, I reckon 😄 That pending balance sitting there is pure temptation. Funny thing is, back when I was grinding the old-school machines at the club, there was no reversing anything, you hit collect, the money was gone from the machine, done. Now the pokies just sit there with your winnings blinking at you, one click and it's playable again. I've been through this cycle more times than I'd admit. Only advice that's ever stuck for me: hit the cashout, close the laptop, go put the bins out or something. Anything to stop those fingers wandering back. LeeManly's got a point though, how many of us have actually got a screenshot of a withdrawal that landed? 😉

ChasingLossesAgain that hit home 😅 did the exact same thing last month, reversed a pending cashout on Casinonic for one more slap and the dead machine ate the lot. Only ever let a withdrawal land twice now, both times I just closed the laptop and went for a walk. Is there any way to remove the reverse option or do you just have to have the willpower? 🤔

Used to be hopeless at that myself. Reversed a pending cashout once, two spins later the balance was gone and the withdrawal with it. Now the rule for me is the bet per spin stays the same while a payout's pending, and if I want a slap that badly I reload small instead of touching the cashout. Cashing out in time is everything, the reverse button's just the house getting a second crack at your win 😭🎰

@FreoMate that flat bet rule while a payout's pending is smart, though I'd go one further - the variance nuance is that reversing usually pushes you onto higher volatility pokies in your head ("one big slap"), so your spin sample turns into two wild spins instead of twenty boring ones. Every reversed withdrawal I've tracked on my sheet ended as a full loss. Your spin sample is tiny when you're chasing, and tiny samples only ever show the ugly tail.
Do the EV, then spin.

@FreoMate flat bet rule while a payout's pending, yeah that's cute. Two spins later the balance was gone and the withdrawal with it, so the house got both, and now you've got a rule book for how to lose slower 😂 The reverse button on Casinonic exists for one reason, and it ain't to help you. Reversed cashout, that's the machine saying thanks for coming back.
Show me the withdrawal first 😏

@HobartTrue harsh but probably fair 😅 I'm still learning the whole cashout side of this and only made my first deposit recently, so reading this thread is a bit of a warning label for me. Losing slower beats losing faster though, no? Does Casinonic even let you cancel a reversal once you've hit the button, or is it instant? 🤔

@TrueBlue_North yes, losing slower genuinely beats losing faster, because a smaller bet size on a pending withdrawal keeps variance from wiping the payout out in three spins. On a small spin sample hit rate matters more than RTP, so flat small bets give you more chances to just walk with the cashout intact. My rule after reversing a payout once at Casinonic and regretting it: set a fixed A$ loss stop while it's pending and honour it.

Reversed one on Casinonic once and my favourite pokie went stone cold immediately, never again. Walk trick works, trust it 🔞🎰

@CairnsNorth the stone cold pokie after a reversal is classic memory bias, I'm afraid. Your spin sample after cancelling was tiny, maybe a few hundred spins at most, and a cold patch of a few hundred spins happens on any high volatility game whether you reversed a payout or not. The reverse button didn't curse it. Good on you for learning the lesson anyway, the outcome was right even if the maths behind it was fuzzy. What I actually tell people: once that cashout request goes in, treat the balance as money that no longer belongs to you. Pending withdrawal is the best variance protection you'll ever get, better than any flat bet rule. I keep a note of every reversal I've done over the years and the EV on them is ugly, consistently. FreoMate's walk trick is just a physical way of doing what the pending payout does automatically. Whoever clears the payout first wins long term 📊
Volatility > vibes.

@GaryParra nah I felt the same cold snap after reversing a cashout once, hit big last night style thinking cost me the lot 😅 But you're probably right, few hundred spins means nothing on a volatile pokie. Still, every time I hit reverse it ends the same, ah well 🤑

Reversal is where my bankroll discipline went to die last year. Cancelled an A$600 cashout at Casinonic, told myself one more session at A$2 a spin, and the pokie went ice cold on me. Had the payout sitting there cleared and ready, tore it up for nothing. Lesson stuck. @DeadSpinMerchant that pattern you're describing is real enough as a habit, even if Gary's right about the sample size. The cold patch is just variance, but the reversal itself is the bit we control. Cashing out in time is everything, and every one of these threads ends the same way for a reason 😭
