Good question mate, "thin" means the site barely explains what docs they want for KYC, like no proper list of ID, proof of address, that sort of thing, just vague one-liners. If you can't tell beforehand whether they'll want a selfie with your passport or a bank statement, that's the red flag. I got caught years back at an offshore mob where the check only surfaced after I asked for the cashout, then they kept adding documents. ah well, we grind on 😉

Funny thing is, the ones that made me sweat over KYC were never the ones with the thin help pages.
