While that's ticking over, the casino keeps a tighter rein on your account, and the withdrawal cap is usually the first thing that cops it.
Say you took a bonus on a Tuesday and your mate deposited clean cash the same week, his account's got nothing owed to it, so the cashier shows him the full limit. Yours is tied up mid-wagering, so yours reads lower. Once you clear the wagering it should open back up. Turned 50 into 5k at one of the RTG joints years back, thought I'd cracked it, then the cashier showed me about 200 because I still had a couple of dollars of bonus funds rattling around. Nearly threw me keyboard at the wall 😄
These days I do the same as Tassie - bonus balance at zero or I don't even bother opening the cashier. And keep your bet per spin small while clearing, like Sam says, one fat spin over the max and they'll void the lot faster than you can blink.
